Old World Yeoman Traditional Takedown Recurve Bow Beginner Kit

$129.95
[Yeoman]

O.k., I'm a beginner. I'm a 68 year old disabled Vietnam veteran who hasn't shot a bow in almost 60 years. Been shopping for one about 6 months. Saw several that were a month's disability pay. Don't know how much greater they are for another $800 over this one. Ordered a 35 lb pull because a 1969 helicopter crash crushed my right shoulder and upper arm. It's all I can do to string and pull this one back. I have a block target and started shooting at 20 ft. Hit maybe 20% of the time. Kept working until I got around 90% then moved back 5 feet. Worked my way back to around 50 feet so far, hitting about 80%. I have some feather fletched arrows on the way. The plastic vane arrows I bought locally ripped up the stick on side plate. I stuck on a piece of the soft side of Velcro and that works o.k. Ordered a magnetic arrow rest. I recommend this bow for anyone who is just getting started or returning to archery. It's exactly what I was looking for and didn't cost a fortune. And I tip I learned from a long time archer, put on a coating of Meguiar's Endurance tire gel on the arrow shafts, let it sit 30 seconds and then polish it off with a paper towel. The shafts will shine. Makes them really easy to pull out of the Block target.
